Mexico emerges as a Voice AI powerhouse with a $3.68 billion market

By June 30, 2026

Voice AI adoption is accelerating across Mexico, according to a report by Statista.

The global conversational AI market is projected to reach $41.39 billion by 2030, with Mexico’s market alone reaching $3.68 billion in 2025.

For years, AI adoption in the country has been has been associated primarily with chatbots; however a new wave of innovation is shifting attention toward voice AI, with businesses increasingly recognizing that the telephone remains one of the most important channels for customer engagement across the country.

Unlike traditional interactive voice response (IVR) systems, modern voice AI platforms can understand intent and respond with human-like fluency. This has made automation practical for far more customer interactions while improving customer satisfaction and reducing operating costs.

Mexico presents an especially attractive market for voice AI, with the country’s large business process outsourcing sector, combined with its growing technology ecosystem, creating more and more demand for intelligent voice solutions.

One company participating in this evolution is Upfirst, whose AI voice agents are designed to automate inbound and outbound business calls.

The platform enables organizations to manage customer inquiries, qualify leads, schedule appointments, and handle routine support requests, allowing human employees to focus on more complex conversations.

According to the company, in a reflection of the improved technology, fewer than 1 in 100 callers answered by an Upfirst receptionist ever asked if they were talking to a machine.

The company’s AI resolved the query without transferring the call in 77% of cases, and only 1 in 5 callers asked to speak with a person instead.

With improvements in speech recognition, multilingual language models, and enterprise AI platforms accelerating rapidly, voice AI appears poised to become one of the defining technologies shaping Mexico’s next phase of business modernization.

This, further, aligns to the broader adoption and investment into AI. AI investment among Mexican companies grew 359% year-over-year in 2025, outpacing both Brazil (210%) and Colombia (185%).
